Sorry Posters
11x7 Posters

I created posters featuring a single word for a “motto grid” project. The color version is designed without a grid, while the black-and-white version uses a grid, allowing me to deepen my understanding of type anatomy, Gestalt principles, and the differences between designing with and without a structured layout. For this project, I first designed the gridded poster in Indesign and then rearranged the elements to create a version without the grid. I scanned hand-made shapes and added them to the background with color, learning how to fill negative space within letters and around the composition. I experimented with positioning the letters and words until the layout felt cohesive and visually balanced. Finally, I printed both designs as physical 11×17 tabloid posters.
